Wizzy, originally from South Korea, has been in the UK for more than 25 years and 20 years as a chef. She founded and ran the renowned Korean restaurant Sky Kong Kong at the Haymarket for more than 10 years. It has recently closed down due to the Premier Inn renovation.

A greatly supported and much loved restaurant, Sky Kong Kong fast became renowned for the quality of food, price point, warm service and philosophy. A community space built on regulars with Wizzy as its beating heart.

We remember with fondness the evening of one of our staff parties there (c2017) where we were served such an array of magical dishes that a pipe burst and the restaurant flooded. We waded through the water with Wizzy to locate the stop cock and then drank wine together. 

So, now it is time for her to move to a bigger space where quality and price will be the same but the scope is broader, making it even more accessible to customers/those in need, whilst also providing greater security to the business.

Wizzy's proposal for ‘Guerilla Kitchen’ is to enrich the local community through a wide range of projects based at their Finzel’s Reach location. The main four are: 1) Korean street food grab-and-go and informal seating, 2) 24-hour DIY self-service restaurant, 3) Barimigol (CIC) community supermarket (fresh & affordable), 4) Weekend street food & Farmers market.
