Pulp Fiction & The Best of Tarantino Live

Pulp Fiction & The Best of Tarantino Live

Florence Knight Presents: Pulp Fiction Live ain’t your average lounge act. They’re a high-octane, vinyl-crackling ensemble of Bristol’s finest session slingers, ripping through the Pulp Fiction soundtrack like a straight razor through banana pancakes.

Imagine: a smoke-filled club, neon buzzing like a broken promise, and then bam!—that surf guitar twang hits you like a jab to the ribs. Behind it? A hit squad of musicians who’ve played with everyone worth name-dropping in the South West and beyond. They don’t wear suits for style—they wear ‘em like armor. Because when they step on stage, it’s showtime. And somebody’s about to get sonically whacked.

Leading the charge is Florence Knight, whose sultry, razor-sharp vocals could melt ice in Jack Rabbit Slim’s. She doesn’t just sing the songs—you feel ‘em in your bones. On guitar, Adam Holgate brings the kind of surf-infused grit and tremolo-drenched bite that would make Vince Vega spill his milkshake. And when Sophie Stockham takes the stage with her saxophone? It’s like a gun going off in slow motion—smooth, seductive, and absolutely dangerous, while Lyle Anderton’s trumpet cuts through the air like a warning shot in a desert standoff.

On keys, Tom Berge lays down vintage grooves straight from a lost '70s reel, while Coreysan holds the foundation on bass—deep, dubby, and dirty enough to rattle the floorboards. Behind it all, Max Harrison drives the whole thing forward on drums, tight and relentless, like a getaway car skidding around every corner on the beat.

This outfit doesn’t just stick to Pulp Fiction. Oh no. They dive into the Tarantino vault—pulling out gems from the legendary filmmakers’ back catalogue. And every track hits like a pulp paperback to the face. From the seductive strut of Let’s Stay Together to the adrenaline-snorting rush of Misirlou, they play every note like it was dipped in blood, bourbon, and black vinyl. It ain’t a tribute. It’s a resurrection.

Directed by the ghost of Tarantino himself (probably), Florence Knight Presents: Pulp Fiction Live brings cinema to life—loud, live, and cooler than a $5 milkshake.

So get ready. The band’s here, and they’re gonna blow the doors off this joint.

Below the Belt Presents: HAMBURGER + LIFTER

Below the Belt collective is Grassroots, DIY, genre diverse and champion the best of the South West. Below the Belt is setting up shop in The Gallimaufry every Thursday night, showcasing grassroots, genre-bending and local artists. Come find some new music.

Kicking things off with a double header gig:

HAMBURGER (shoegaze, sleaze, indie pop)

formed in Bristol after a fateful meeting in a fast food joint. On the back of their latest EP ‘Beat Back The Ghouls’, where the band takes their sound in a more lush, subtle and layered direction. On this record Hamburger create a more complex and sophisticated sound, flitting masterfully between driven guitar hooks, emotive lilting melodies, singalong angst-fuelled hits and warm dreamy fuzz.

LIFTER (indie folk)

released their first album ‘Clasping Hands with the Moribund’ in October‘24 taking musical cues from a diverse range of sources, including slowcore, folk, country, and indie rock. A handful of influences would include The Fairport Convention and Duster. Silver Jews and Sparklehorse inspired their earlier work, all in all adding to a much scrappier and heavier sound in comparison to this more intricate and pastoral feel they’ve begun to adopt.

FFO: Belle & Sebastian,Smashing Pumpkins, lots of people playing instruments at the same time, Nick Drake.

Eve Appleton Band Presents

Simply some of our favourites… all night, with us… lucky you.

So here they are, hosted by the Bridport storyteller poet Dylan Ross, the guests of honour (including Dylan) are:

Myer U Clark is a gentle Bristol-based singer-songwriter and melody fanatic.

An obsessive of old English folk tunes and PC Music equally, he has a penchant for the emotional and the absurd; especially in folk and theatrical musical environments - and his conscientious vocals overlaid on intricately fingerpicked guitar melodies have drawn comparisons with artists like John Martyn and Nick Drake.

Eva Penney Band is captivating and at times cutting, she has always been honest in her music, constantly treading an uneasy line between metaphor and truth.

With a sound inspired by alternative and acoustic folk, the electronic and DIY elements weaved into her recordings and performances create a unique and warming listening experience.

XAV + Milly Upton + Jusjim

XAV + Milly Upton + Jusjim

This is Xav Clarke's first gig in his new hometown of Bristol. Joined by an old friend (Milly) and a new friend (Jim) as he stands in the transition of two worlds - playing a show that brings his past into harmony with his future here - we're all looking forward to hearing them jamming it out to you in the present as we set sail on a new journey together...

Xav Clarke is an artist blurring the lines between homespun philosophical lyric writing and wonked-out cinematic soundscapes informed by his composition work for animation and film. His songs are about the personal amidst the enormous, life between extinctions, set to a psychedelic folk soundtrack where everything that bleeps and bloops is covered in moss and someone's dug out some enthusiasm for life from between the rocks. Fresh from the release of his highly anticipated album 'Fossil Forest' -produced by Mercury Prize winner Mike Lindsay (Tunng / LUMP) - Xav takes his kaleidoscopic psychedelic indie pop to the stage.

Jusjim is well known to the Galli stage as drummer of the pioneering Waldo's Gift crew. Mixing melodic jazz phrases with angular electronic rhythms and the raw energy of punk and metal, James' rhythmic approach is truly unique. Hear his ever-evolving, mind-blowing solo project and find out if a fox ate his shoes last night. We love this man!

Raised in Brighton surrounded by the music of Rickie Lee Jones, Joni Mitchell and Joan Armatrading, Milly Upton got her start in music young. With a voice that evokes memories of the Greenwich Village scene in 1970, Milly carries listeners away with her gently swaying indie pop songs.

An incredible free entry line-up, the start of something truly beautiful. Welcome, Xav.
