Roy Ayers Tribute:

We pay our respects to the late great vibraphonist, composer, singer and producer Roy Ayers, best know for his hit single Everybody Loves the Sunshine. Joined on vibraphone by Chris Hull, we’ll explore Ayer’s genre bending compositions spanning hard bop, funk and acid jazz.

LUNA KALI (Neo-soul/R&B)
Returning for a very special full band show, Luna Kali is a multilingual singer from Portugal who loves Neo-Soul, R&B and Indigenous Folk Music. She is known for her rich and soulful tone with elements of playfulness and embellishment. With her powerful and authentic lyrics, Luna expresses her experiences navigating the generational pressure of being an immigrant and longing for unity, while also highlighting her journey through her mixed heritage.

Amri fuses her roots into putting a spin on her much-loved Soul and R&B to create a fresh new, jazzy colourful sound. Her lyrics touch on her exposure in the world as a young woman of colour; translating this into getting you to feel, sing and move with her. With so many inspirations she pulls from, her soulful, sweet melodies will surely hold a piece of something you love and play over in your head!

Trumpet led explorations through a rich world of soulful hooks and improvisation. Box fresh Bristol and London based 4-piece; Sungrass are ready to cook up a storm. Drawing inspiration from the melodic sensibilities of contemporary jazz artists such as The RH Factor, Pat Metheny and Butcher Brown, their original music also leans into influences from Gospel, Fusion, and Soul. At times sincere and heartfelt, at others blistering with energy, this group is not one to miss.

For one night only, an ensemble of Bristol’s most talented musicians, fronted by Lily Mackay, will be showcasing some of Moonchild’s best-loved tracks, infusing them with their own distinctive spin, whilst retaining their authentic essence. The Grammy-nominated, LA based trio, Moonchild, have become pioneers in the modern soul scene, creating a luscious progressive sound with their smooth fusion of Neo-Soul, R&B and Jazz. This dreamy night will be filled with soulful vocals, tight grooves, and catchy melodies.

Founder of the Leeds based club night Bazuka and local to the Bristol jam scene, Taygo is an explorer of all sounds upbeat and joyous. In his short time since relocating to Bristol, Taye has formed Brum-based collective Turned Out Nice and monthly Jam night Down Time.
