What is the first thing that you think of when you remember the Nintendo Wii? Perhaps an elderly relative struggling to navigate its’ controller’s gyroscopes and accelerometers while you played them at Tennis on Wii Sports. But think again. What can you hear? For many, the lasting memory of this janky but well-loved video game console is its soundtrack. To celebrate the Nintendo Wii’s 18th birthday, Semper figuratively exchange guitars and horns for Wii remotes to perform their version of the Nintendo Wii songbook. Reworks (or Wii-works, if you will) are a highlight of what Semper does at the Gallimaufry and this one-off show is no exception.
